Need Help Joining Games?

To play Armor Critical, please install the most recent release of Java from http://java.com. I also recommend completely removing all versions of Java (restart computer after) and reinstalling the newest version of Java (restart computer after) if you continue to have problems getting Armor Critical to work. Also clear the Java cache!!

Currently, the current JRE (update 401) works with the desktop client, but not for the browser version.
If you must use the browser version, it is recommended to use version Java 1.8.0_341.

If you are using the client, and games won't load: Please make sure your java is the correct version (32/64 bit Java based on OS) and clear your Java cache (see instructions at bottom of this post to clear Java cache).

The client may not detect your Java installation/version correctly. This is due to the environment variables pointing to the wrong location. How to manually change PATH.

If you must use the browser to play, the web client is still available. You can get to the Web Login from the http://armorcritical.com landing page (shown in image below).

Once you have logged in to the web client, click "Settings" in the top right navigation bar of the lobby. Make sure that the game launch mode is set to JNLP mode. This is the only launch mode that is currently working as far as I know. Once you have the correct launch mode selected, scroll to the bottom of the settings window and click the save button. Re-Load the lobby after saving your settings for the Launch Mode changes to take affect.

To play using the web client, you must add 'http://armorcritical.com' to the site exception list on the security tab of the Java Config application.

While you're in the Java Config app, clear your Java cache by clicking on the "General" tab -> "Temporary Internet Files" Section -> "Settings..." button. In the "Temporary Files Settings" window, click the "Delete Files..." button. In the "Delete Files and Applications" window, tick all of the boxes and click "OK".

Once you have installed the newest Java, set launch mode to JNLP, allowed http://armorcritical.com in the site exception list, and cleared your Java cache, you should be able to join games.

Clicking the "Join" button from the lobby will now download an "armorcritical.jnlp" file, SAVE the file AND THEN open it. Click through any warnings that come up and the game should load!
