Take a while to go fullscreen?

I was having an issue where going fullscreen (pressing F7) would take around 30 seconds to finish. Slayer helped me out with a solution ( though it doesn't work for him ) and I want to leave it here for anyone else.

If you have an NVIDIA GPU (Graphics card) do this:

• Right click your desktop
  Click NVIDIA Control Panel
  Go to 'Adjust desktop size and position'
  Select the display you want to change
  On the 'Scaling' tab, choose Aspect Ratio
  In the 'Perform scaling on' drop down, choose GPU
  Check 'Override the scaling mode set by games and programs'

As an important note, I am still unable to fix this issue while my monitor is in 240mhz refresh rate. I had to bring it down to 120mhz. Keep that in mind.
